“Thankful”s to ponder

The sarcastic (& my favourite)

Be thankful we’re not getting all the government we’re paying for” – Will Roger

The witty

“Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?” – author unknown

The ‘reminder’

A thankless person rarely does a thankful deed” -author unknown

The “pick me up”

Be thankful for hard times in your life. Try not to look at them as bad things, but as oppurtunities to grow and learn” – author unknown

The “be contented”

He enjoys much who is thankful for little; a grateful mind is both a great and happy mind.” – author unknown

The “work sucks but its OK”

Be thankful that your job is a little harder than you like.” – author unknown

The “glass is half full”

Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses.” – Allophones Karr

and

If you can’t be content with what you have received, be thankful for what you have escaped

The one from Buddha

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.

hypocrisy at work

Hypocrisy is defined by dictionary.com as ~

  1. The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness.
  2. An act or instance of such falseness
I cannot forget & hopes that I have forgotten,
I am not excited & I am not keen,
I have no wish to give updates & no wish to receive updates
Yet with the the nos, nots & cannots
I still have to succumb to the ‘nice’ acts

Is that hypocrisy at work or what?

But as Ambrose Pierce say ~

Politeness is the most acceptable hypocrisy

The curious case of Malaysia Murkiness

The congested & pot holed muddy roads,
The dim advancing economy & the dim-witted education standard,
The darkly lit roads & the overcast snatch thieves,
The shadow policemen we have
& the ‘hide-in-shadows-for-kopi-duit’ traffic police,
The heard voices of the people but ‘conveniently ignored
The murky truth of our past, present & future PMs
The dirty politics to stay in power
And our cloudy judicial system….

I would think that the case of M’sia murkiness is more interesting that the case of Benjamin Button  isn’t it ?
